Supporting children and families living with ADHD
Hi, I am Lucy Stoxen.
2021 was a transformative year for my family. I was diagnosed at 39 and our eldest child at 7 with ADHD. What followed was an intense year of more than 40 different specialist appointments as I navigated the different pathways needed to get adequate support for our son and myself. I quickly worked out how inadequately some schools deal with ADHD and the challenges faced in finding the right supports. E.g., wait times for specialists, spiraling and varied costs with supports etc.
I became a fierce advocate for anyone who was ADHD and in supporting friends, neighbours and close family start their diagnosis journey. I realised that once I started sharing my story, it gave people the confidence to talk about their story. I have met so many more wonderful like-minded ADHD people this way. Finding your own tribe where you can be accepted has made me happy.
In my consultancy my aim is to provide families, students, Teachers and School’s with education, advocacy and support with ADHD and it’s learning differences. I have lived experienced as a High School Teacher for 20 years, as a woman and an ADHD mum to one ADHD child.
I have a flexible style and approach to my consulting. Individual consults can be done face to face from my office, online via zoom or in the comfort of your own home.
My hope is to provide clients with practical advice and strategies that will improve and strengthen their lives. With the right supports ADHD people can flourish and lead very successful lives, just like anyone.
